What you need to know about industrial personnel and their management

Industrial personnel are all the employees involved in the performance of industrial and manufacturing functions of the enterprise. Most often, these include those departments and divisions that are associated with the process of manufacturing products, maintenance of production and equipment, its configuration, adjustment, as well as workers employed in ancillary and supporting departments.

In many ways, the quality and timing of work, as well as the cost of products, depends on the industrial personnel, therefore, enterprises pay special attention to the optimization and efficiency of this area of the enterprises.
Categories of industrial personnel
Industrial personnel can be provisionally divided into two categories:

1.   Workers – employees directly involved in the production process or responsible for the repair and maintenance of equipment.

2.   Managers – employees of the company who plan, control and analyze the productivity of workers and are responsible for the result.

This also includes employees of research or technology organizations and laboratories, if they are part of the enterprise.

Both in small and large chain companies of federal level, expenses for organizing the uninterrupted work of personnel constitute a significant part of company’s expenses. For industrial production enterprises, this indicator is even higher, since the volume and quality of manufactured products, as well as the final financial result of the organization’s activities, directly depends on the efficiency and optimization of industrial personnel management.
Management of industrial personnel of the organization
HRM systems or, in other words, automated human resources management systems are used to organize work with industrial personnel. Their convenience lies in the fact that they include both standardized blocks of personnel work, for example, employees accounting and payroll, and other workflows for accounting for the quality indicators of the personnel of an industrial enterprise are fully automated: training, assessment, selection and subsequent adaptation of personnel, as well as maintaining a database of potential candidates.

Such software makes it convenient to manage the industrial personnel of the enterprise and saves the HR manager from routine operations, such as preparing, filling out and registering documents. HRMS also provide an opportunity to create a single informational space in the company, which greatly simplifies personnel work and increases its efficiency.

Automated systems are often presented in the form of a ready-made complex of packaged solutions. They are designed in such a way that they are suitable for companies operating in various fields, as they take into account the development practices of all industries.

In addition, automated systems for managing the production workforce of an organization have practically unlimited possibilities for customizing any of the modules used for the specific needs of each individual enterprise, which makes it possible, first of all, to track and control those indicators that are important at the moment.

Programs that help in organizing management of industrial personnel can be a separate independent product or can be a part of an integrated enterprise automation system (ERP).

The introduction of automated systems in order to optimize management of industrial personnel increases the profitability of enterprises and prevents wasteful spending of financial resources.
